#GoBackStalin is trending on Twitter amidst the stiff opposition faced by M.K. Stalin, former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. 

Today's date, i.e., October 29, marks the 113th birth anniversary of the famous freedom fighter, Muthuramalingam Thevar. This day is being observed throughout Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O Pannerselvam and other ministers visited Madurai today to pay homage to Muthuramalingam Thevar.

DMK Leader MK Stalin, who is the former Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, also paid homage to freedom fighter Muthuramalingam Thevar's gigantic statue. After this, people started protesting against M.K. Stalin, with the loud slogan "Go Back Stalin". Since then, the hashtag #GoBackStalin is trending on Twitter.

REASON FOR THE BOYCOTT OF MK STALIN AND THE TRENDING OF #GOBACKSTALIN 

When MK Stalin was the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, he approved the Methane Project, but when he lost power and became a leader of opposition, Stalin started opposing the same project. Moreover, when the BJP government scrapped the Methane Project, Stalin took the credit for it. Thus, people turned against MK Stalin. As Legislative Assembly Elections are approaching in Tamil Nadu, the Thevar Community is boycotting MK Stalin. Hence the hashtag "#GoBackStalin" is trending.
