How the Grammy Nominations Works ?

Grammy Award is an award represented by Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry. This gilded gramophone award is enough to judge every artist's accomplishments throughout the year. Just like Oscar or Golden Globe, it recognizes excellence in an artistic expression. The Grammys are the biggest award which is regularly held every year in the last week of January but it's mobile.

The process begins with musicians and companies submitting their entries, which will be screened for eligibility and category placement. The Recording Academy reviewed its rules and update them. The members and record companies enter recordings during the eligibility year. Then entries are submitted across 84 categories which further be placed in an appropriate category like Rock, Jazz, R&B, Country, New Age, Rap, Classical, Latin, among others.

After screening committees organize entries into appropriate fields, members of the Recording Academy vote on the first-round ballot to determine final nominees. Then nomination review community goes through the final nominees which they consider worthy of recognition in the Grammy Awards.

But some people believe this entire nomination process is completely ridiculous because your entries will only be eligible if your song has commercially released and sold in the United States. The Grammy guidelines state that that the album must be "available for sale" on a broad distributor. Meaning, anything that isn't in the iTunes store or Amazon isn't eligible. Therefore, you cannot find many people of color and different cultures in the nominations. But many new young artists are working hard to break this ice.

For 2021, due to Covid concerns, Grammy Awards have been rescheduled for March 14, 2021.
