BJP MLA attempts suicide by consuming sanitizer

Bhubaneswar:  BJP MLA Subhash Panigrahi attempted suicide by consuming sanitizer in the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Friday, to draw the government’s attention to farmers' issue of paddy procurement. He alleged the government for looking over the issue and hence justified the act. He said “since the government doesn’t pay attention to this we are ready to do such act”.

Considering the Deograh MLS’s suicide attempt an unprecedented and unfortunate incident in the history of the House, the Biju Janata Dal demanded an apology from the legislator. The BJD alleged that Subhash Panigrahi has defamed the dignity of House by this suicide drama.

Many questions have been raised ever since considering this as a publicity stunt by BJP. And not just BJD this act is bring condemned by people nationwide questioning the accountability of the MLA, actions that should be taken by the party, demand an apology, and many more. But BJP has not yet commented on the issue.
